ITM TAUPO SUPER400 HOME ADVANTAGE
The Repco Supercars Championship returned to New Zealand for the ITM Taupō Super400, where Penrite Racing’s Kiwi drivers, Matt Payne and Richie Stanaway, showcased their talent on home turf. Despite a mixed weekend of highs and lows, Payne impressed with strong qualifying performances, securing pole position in Race 7 and a front-row start in Race 8. Stanaway, while facing challenges in qualifying, experienced an overwhelming show of support from fans at the track.
With over 67,000 spectators in attendance, both drivers gained significant points in the driver championships, with Stanaway rising to 4th place and Payne closely behind in 5th. Penrite Racing maintained their position in 2nd in the team standings. Looking forward, the series heads to Perth for the next event, with Stanaway, Payne, and the Penrite Racing team focused on continuous improvement and aiming for championship success.
