Matt Payne has proven himself to be one of the leading talents in the Supercars Championship, claiming victory in one of the greatest races our sport has ever seen, the 2025 Bathurst 1000 alongside Garth Tander. The same year he finished 5th in the Supercars Drivers Championship, finishing off his most successful season to date.

Payne's rapid rise in motorsport saw him debut with Penrite Racing in 2023, culminating in a memorable victory in Adelaide. Before that, in 2022, he challenged for the Super2 title and made his mark at the Great Race alongside Lee Holdsworth.

His journey began in karting, where he won multiple championships, including the KZ2 National Sprint Championship. Despite his young age, Payne has already tasted success internationally, winning the 2021 Toyota Racing Series and claiming a podium finish in the New Zealand Grand Prix.

His talent was further recognised when he became the inaugural recipient of the Team Porsche NZ scholarship under the mentorship of Earl Bamber.
