Grove Racing donates $44K to MITS at Indigenous Round in Darwin

In an effort to make a difference off the track during Indigenous Round, Grove Racing has today donated $44,000 to Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS).

Making the presentation ahead of Supercars Race 17 at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway, the teams Supercars partners and the final bid on an Indigenous painting by artist Lorraine Kabbindi White, who provided the artwork for the squads Indigenous Round livery, contributed to the final amount.

The total value of donation amount is enough to provide five Indigenous students from the Northern Territory to be sent to MITS for one year.

Grove Racing owner, Stephen Grove, said: “It was key for us across this weekend to back up whatever we did on track to celebrate the round with something that can truly make a difference for Indigenous Australians.”

“This is a game changer for the lives of a group of young Indigenous kids looking to access better education via MITS.

“We’re very proud to partner with MITS and what they do is incredible, I hope that some of their students find themselves working with us in motorsport one day.”

Grove presented the cheque in pit lane to the Head of Cultural Strength and Engagement for MITS, Samantha Rioli, and former Essendon AFL legend and MITS Board Member, Dean Rioli.

The Grove Group in conjunction with its Supercars team partners Programmed Maintenance Services, Topps Products Australia, Dasher + Fisher Tasmanian Gin, Apex Steel, Gates, Southcott, ACL, Banlaw, Penrite and TLA all contributed to our fundraising efforts.
